Biography
Sir Conrad Cleophas Hunte was one of the finest opening batsmen the West Indies ever produced — dependable, courageous, and technically flawless at the top of the order.
As West Indies Vice-Captain he was a steadying presence during the side’s rise to global dominance in the 1960s, laying the foundations of many a famous innings with his patient, watchful starts.
Beyond cricket, Hunte devoted much of his life to social and moral causes, earning admiration around the world. Knighted for his services to the game, he was made an Honorary Life Member of Empire Club, the institution that helped shape him.
