Seymour Nurse

Seymour McDonald Nurse was one of the most elegant middle-order batsmen of his generation, a stroke-maker whose timing and power lit up grounds across the cricketing world.

A West Indies representative through the 1960s, he saved some of his finest cricket for last, signing off his international career with a magnificent double-century — leaving the game at the very height of his powers.

An Honorary Life Member of Empire and a BCA figure of 1971, Nurse remains a cherished name in the club’s long roll of honour.
